PSF measurements
For routine measurements of point spread functions (PSFs) on confocal microscopes we use gold beads of 80 nm diameter and record reflection images. The advantage is that as opposed to fluroescent beads, gold beads do not bleach during recording. Recorded images are first evaluated with PSFJ. The output is then further processed by a newly develloped KNIME workflow to generated html code, plots and PSF images.
