Hopper: Imaging Workstation

Named after Grace Hopper (1906 - 1992), a US computer specialist and a pioneer of programming (Wikipedia de|en).

This computer was acquired in 2024 with the fastest graphics card available.

Software

This computer runs under Windows 10 64 bit. It will be upgraded to Windows 11 when the respective LTSC (long term support) version becomes available (anounced for end of 2024). The following imaging software packages are installed:

  • Fiji/ImageJ
  • Imaris versions 7.6 and 9.7.2 from Bitplane (now part of Oxford Instruments)
  • Leica LASX offline version.

  • Nvidia RTX4090 GPU with 24 GB memory
