News for the new Year

All new microscopes are now up and running. Usage guidelines and usage fees come into effect on 01. February 2016.

14.01.2016

A happy new year 2016 from the Core Facility Bioimaging team to our users and supporters.

There is good news for the start of the year: All ordered microscopes are now delivered and operational. Training requests and bookings can be made via the booking web site.

Plus, as you are currently experiencing, this website came online. Among other things it contains a list of the available microscopes, some of which already have a detailed description (e.g. Malpighi, the upright confocal) while for others we still have to add the details, as time permits.

Under "For new users" the now implemented guidelines of the facility are provided for download (pdf-file, ~250 kb), including a page which has to be signed by the user and the group leader, as well as another which has to be signed only by the user. We ask all current users to print those out and bring us the two signed pages for each user until February 1. All future users will have to do so before getting access to the machines.

On February 1, also the usage fees will come into effect. They too are listed on the website, under Instrumentation->Usage Fees. You will find that in particular the fees charged for BMC members compare very favorable with fees at other institutions in Germany. Additional information on the fees can be found in the usage guidelines. Please note that light microscopy fees can be applied for in grant applications. For DFG-grants, please see “Hinweise zu Gerätenutzungskosten und zu Gerätezentren” (Introduction and chapter on “Hochentwickelte Lichtmikroskopie“).
