"Deconvolution: Concepts and applications"

A public talk by Hans van der Voort, developer of the Huygens deconvolution software, on Wednesday, 7. December, 9:30

10.11.2016

The Core Facility Bioimaging is proud to announce the talk

"Deconvolution: Concepts and applications"

by Hans van der Voort, Scientific Volume Imaging, Hilversum, The Netherlands

on Wednesday, 7. December, 9:30

at the Small Lecture Hall of the BMC

Hans is founder of Scientific Volume Imaging (SVI) and developer of Huygens, a well known program for the deconvolution of light microscopic images.

He'll explain what makes deconvolution algorithms tick, and what can be achieved by them, especially in the field of STED superresolution microscopy. The impact of deconvolution on other, no less interesting imaging modalities like light sheet or classical widefield microscopy, will be discussed as well.

Optimal deconvolution results can only be obtained when all the information the microscope provides about an object is captured. Since this is by no means a trivial task, special attention will be given to image acquisition and pitfalls which lurk on the road to perfect images.

Hans visits us within the STED superresolution microscopy workshop we are organizing. While other workshop events are limited to registered participants, this talk is open to all interested.
